Faith & Thought 2026 – Proposal for AGM.
In light of the retirement of our administrator and editor, council would like to propose a change in the activity of Faith & Thought.
  1. At present we have 127 subscribers, 11 of whom receive the journal online only.
  2. By contrast our mailing list (hosted by Mailchimp) currently has 224 contacts.
  3. Income from subscriptions represents about 25% of total income, whereas printing and distributing the journal costs are about 40% of total expenses.  Clearly subscriptions do not cover the cost of producing the paper journal.
  4. We are blessed to have income from investments which are sufficient to cover the expenses of hosting events (Symposium / Lecture) and there would be the option of charging a small admission fee if necessary.
  5. Proposal: Council proposes that we cancel the subscription model of membership, and move from publishing a paper journal twice a year to publishing online papers from time to time.
  6. It is also proposed that in cancelling the subscription model of membership, we will make all previous issues of Faith & Thought available publicly online, including recent issues.
  7. Members who are unable to access online material should let us know and we may be able to provide printouts of papers for a small fee.
